Lately, I’ve been trying to come up with fun after work things to do. There’s been a lot of couch sitting lately, and it needs to change. It is surprising how many fun activities are happening around us. Who knew that Etsy held monthly meet-ups? My shoes are in the car ready to go for tonight.
This month’s theme is shoe redo with author and designer extraordinaire, Mark Montano! Bring in a pair of shoes that could use a stylish update, and Mark will have all kinds of fantastic materials to help with the reincarnation. You can also design shoe clips and accessories to jazz up all the shoes you own. The crew from BC Footwear will also be on hand to judge the 15 coolest redos and winners get a free pair of shoes!
If you have additional pairs of shoes to spare, bring them in too. We’ll have a collection area where attendees can get shoes if needed. Any donated shoes not used that night will be given to a local charity. $5 admission includes materials and snacks. Free admission for members of CAFAM. RSVP is suggested to firstname.lastname@example.org
When: Thursday, March 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. PT at CAFAM.
Where: The Craft and Folk Art Museum, 5814 Wilshire Blvd (at Curson), Los Angeles, CA 90048
