This morning I feel like making a big pot of coffee, putting on my cozy slippers and baking a bunch of Christmas sweets….doesn’t that sound lovely. Sigh, a girl can dream! Oh and if my kitchen could look like this for my dream December day it would make things extra lovely. I would also replace the cute beagle with Miss Dottie and have JB join me.

Holly Becker (Decor 8) wrote a really inspiring blog post a few days ago called “Never Giving Up On Your Dreams.” Just what I needed to hear today.
“There is always more. At any age. You can be thirty, forty or about to turn seventy and you can still change something that isn’t working in your life. That is the beauty of being human, we have free will and a strong one at that – if we listen to it. Most of the time, the only person holding us back is staring at us when we look in the mirror.”

West Elm has a lot of unique and fairly inexpensive vases and hurricanes right now. My favorites are the Lee Ann Vases and the Mercury Glass Log Hurricanes. I think I’m gonna have to pick up one…how can I resist those little porcelain feet on the Lee Ann Vase?

I really, really, really, want the Framed Mini Canadian Flag from Restoration Hardware. I am absolutely in love with it, but want it to go on sale like the rest of the flags. I think our apartment needs the Canadian flag…especially during the Olympics. GO CANADA GO!!!

We’ve been wanting to get a new desk for a while (rid our house of IKEA) and we both fell in love with the Jackson table at Cost Plus World Market. It’s meant to be a dinning table, but we like it better as a large desk. JB assembled it last night and we played rearrange the office until midnight. I really love the look of the wood top and metal base, very Anthropologie-esque!

The CB2 catalog came in the mail yesterday and they are definitely have some cute throw pillows. The best way to liven up your old furniture is to buy some new throw cushions, cheap and high impact. The dog pillow on the top (my favorite) was created in collaboration with San Francisco’s Creativity Explored, a nonprofit visual arts center where artists with developmental disabilities create, exhibit and sell art (learn more at creativityexplored.org).

Here are few things that I was lusting over while I was in Canada. Grrrr for the 50lb suitcase weight limit. I’m absolutely obsessed with the mint table lamp. Maybe it will fly from Canada to Burbank and hibernate in my home for the winter?
