Over the weekend, we walked through the Art + Design Open Market in Pasadena. I’ve been on the hunt for a birthday present for my friend “M” and found the perfect pottery vendor. I found something really lovely for my friend and surprised JB with the cow plate he had been eyeing. The artist (firstname.lastname@example.org) was super generous and threw in the two gorgeous polka dot dishes for free. I’m such a sucker for polka dot….I really love how rustic and handmade the pieces are.
“The Open Market provides a rare opportunity for the public to interact with emerging and established artists from Pasadena’s leading cultural institutions: Pasadena City College and Art Center College of Design. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to participating artists, thereby supporting individual careers and artistic expression.
Since its launch in 2003, the Open Market has provided visibility for more than 700 artists and has served as a destination for thousands of art collectors and enthusiasts. Art for sale includes photography, fine art, paintings, illustrations, graphic design, ceramics, sculptures and more. “
