Teany, Lavender Lemonade Recipe

I picked up a small bunch of lavender at the farmer’s market this past weekend….the house smells lovely. A few years ago, I had a chance to visit Teany (Moby’s teahouse/cafe) and I loved it so much, I picked up the book. There’s a lot of wonderful recipes in the book, but I especially want to try the a recipe for Lavender Lemonade.

Lavender Lemonade Recipe:

1 1/2 tablespoons lavender buds (herbal teas – don’t use a lavender blend)

7 cups water

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup lemon juice

1/2 gallon pitcher

Infuse lavender buds in four cups of nearly boiling water for 10 mins. Dissolve the sugar in 3 cups of nearly boiling water (stir until completely dissolved). Pour the lemon juice into the pitcher along with the steeped lavender  buds and dissolved sugar water. Fill the rest of the pitcher with ice, which will melt almost immediately, making the liquid room temperature and immediately servable over ice.

Makes 1/2 gallon.

  1. Thank you for posting this! I wanted the recipe, and I own the book, but it’s in a box in storage right now, so this is great.
